- Bowladroids Demo
-
- This is an incomplete early taster version of Bowladroids. We hope you enjoy
- the Demo and look forward to the game which isn't that far from completion
- now.
-
- Pressing the space bar during the loading screen will speed loading up by
- stopping the firework (awwww...). This is most useful on ARM 2 machines.
-
- Ctrl-Escape will quit from the Options Screen back to the Desktop or from the
- Game back to the Options Screen. (Escape on it's own does nothing, this is to
- prevent accidental quitting in the heat of action!)
-
- Options Screen : Set the options up to the desired control method, the
- joystick number can be altered by clicking on the joystick, the keys can be
- defined, clicking on the left key first will enable all keys to be defined in
- order - left, right, up, down and fire. Clicking on a key that is being
- defined will cancel key defining. Clicking twice on a control method will
- cancel the player and his visor will slide down.
-
- The Note Option : (Shiny or Matt) will decide the quality of the sound, ARM 2
- users cannot quite manage the shiny note (it will sound 'odd' sometimes) and
- should use the Matt note. All other processors can manage the shiny note
- setting although ARM 250 users will find the game a little smoother with the
- matt note and no major loss in sound quality.
-
- The other options should be fairly obvious, the Rainbow in the middle turns
- the rainbow border effect on or off in the game. When you are happy with the
- options hit the big red plunger and get ready. (There will be a delay for 1Mb
- users)
-
- Playing the Game : To roll a bomb, hold down fire and then press the
- direction in which to roll it, it will go off a bit later. The only hard bit
- which isn't obvious is how to kill the droids, they are much tougher than
- you and can only be damaged by a very close proximity explosion. They also
- take 3 hits!! Good Luck!
-
- 1Mb Machines : This software compensates for the lack of RAM by not loading
- the game all at once, to this end the disc must be left in the drive. It is
- also slower going between the option screen and the game and you cannot have
- in game music although you can hear the excellent sound track from the
- options screen.
-
- RO 2 Machines : Just run the game. If you are Hard drive user, the !System in
- the 'RO2 Extras' contains a recent Shared 'C' Library 'CLib' (v3.75). Use
- !SysMerge provided if you want to update your master System.
-
- RO 3.1x machines do not need !System due to the massive ROM support of these
- computers.
-
- The full game : Lots of levels, far more intelligent baddies and computer
- players. Loads of bonuses and hopefully (time permitting) an even dreamier
- sound track than is featured in this Demo.
-
- T-Factor : We represent a dedicated team of Acorn specific independant game
- developers, our goal is to present to you what you bought the machine for in
- the first place, namely the best, at a fair price.
-
- The FOUR Joystick Interface costs £34.95 and allows 5 people to use
- Bowladroids in comfort! Uses standard Atari or Sega Master System
- compatible joysticks (9 pin connector with 1 or 2 fires - huge variety of
- different styles available)
-
- Bowladroids costs £19.95, save £10 if bought with the FOUR. (£44.90 total)
-
- If you do wish to order both products, please send two cheques (£29.95 and
- £14.95) as we have Stock ready for dispatch of the FOUR interface, however
- the game is still being completed at this time (23-Feb-1994).
